Tell me what you think....
Part 1:
So I ordered a pint of paint yesterday to do a spray out on the hood of the Camaro. I found some pictures of the paint on the internet and want opinions. I will post pictures of the hood as soon as it is prepped and painted.

Part 2:
With the new paint I will also be planning on buying new wheels for the car. I have a set in mind, but am curious what you all would pick. The ZR1 style wheels are 17" x 8" all the way around and made to fit the 3rd gen from SLP. The other two sets would be custom ordered 3 piece wheels and 17" x 8" front and 17" x 10" rears. |

So what do you all think of these for the rears?
First picture is what the wheel with the deep lip will look like. The second picture is of the Chrome finish. I couldn't find one of the wheel I want in chrome. |

no chrome. if it was me, on my car, i'd do a gun metal enter with polished lip other wise just the satin finish but go with the deepest rear dish you can get.

I love that color of blue!!!!
Personally, I'm old school, I love chrome wheels. The ZR1's remind me of the old Cragar that were extremely popular for many years. That's why I've kept mine and put the 17" x 11" on the rear of mine.

personally i'd go with the SLP's ZR1 style rims. i think they'd look a lot better on a 3rd gen. I've got a set of 97 camaro SS silver ZR1 style rims on the way for my 3rd gen. did you already buy rims? which style?

Nope, I haven't ordered the wheels yet. I have found a few other things to focus on. Still working on the fuel system and the floor area of the rear storage well. After you get your wheels I would like to see pictures of them after you get them mounted on the car. David |

6" bs on a 10" rim will rub. You need 5.5" I actually ran 5" bs on a 10" rim and it put the tire almost even with the outer lip.

my 15x10 prostars are 6.5 bs. I had to remove the bumpstop and "motivate" the inner fender wells a bit. they are close, but dont rub. I had a set of 5.5 bs wheels first but I didnt like the way they fit so I decided to make the 6.5bs work. Im glad I did they look much better IMO.

+1 on that...I'm a thirdgen fanatic. David I love the ZR1 style and you don't see many around here but they are everywhere it seems on these cars. Head to thirdgen.org and do a little search. I vote something a little more modern looking with a huge dish. I also vote for 18's...

18x10 with 6" backspace will be perfect for the rear. Nitto even makes a 305 18

I had a 315 on a 17x10 with 6" bs. The tires were a tad wide for the wheel and rubbed a little it took about 5 minutes to clearance the inner fender. A 305 shouldn't rub at all |

Here's what few pics I have. I really like them, I love how they turned out. The only problem I have is that they further accentuate how badly I need to lower my car.

They look good on the car. I may be able to help you out with a set of Eibach Sport Springs if you would be interested. After I figure out what I am going to do with it I will let you know. Where are you in Louisville?

Thanks, I hope the pics helped you in your decision for your car. So those are the eibach sportlines (~1.5" drop) not the pro kit (~1" drop)? If they are then I'd be interested if you do decide to sell them. Depends on price though. I was planning on going with cut moogs, would end up with about the same drop as sportlines but have a much stiffer spring rate. But if the price is right, then I'm interested. Let me know. Oh and I'm in PRP (southwest jefferson county). |

and thanks for the other compliments, Yun Gunz and BLK95-Z. Car still is in desperate need of a paint job and lowering like I mentioned. But aside from that I'm almost happy with it from the outside asethetics stand point. The rims really helped in my opinion. I'm really glad to get rid of the skinnies I had on there, I have so much more contact patch now. I'm sure there's a reason why weld says not to run the skinnies on the street. lol.
